Davenport Wins Second Amelia Island Title

Lindsay Davenport won the Bausch & Lomb Championships for the second title on Sunday, defeating World No.3 Amelie Mauresmo in straight sets, 64 64. Davenport, who has now captured two titles this year, also won the Amelia Island title back in 1997.

The win at Amelia Island marks Davenport's 40th career title, making her only the 10th player in the Open Era to win 40 or more titles and tying her with Martina Hingis for 9th place. She also became only the fourth player to win more than $17 million dollars in prize money.
