One source close to the situation told ESPN.com's Marc Stein the Portland
Trail Blazers were forced to waive oft-injured center Greg Oden -- selected
No. 1 overall in the 2007 draft over Kevin Durant -- to help create
sufficient roster space to accommodate all the players Portland acquired in
separate trades with New Jersey and Houston on Thursday.
