[英中] 不好意思 請教這個句子的單字用法

不好意思請板上前輩幫小弟看一下面試用的句子



領先21世紀的管理者必須具有質樸但是嚴謹的態度

A leading-edge manager in the 21st Century

 requires a humble but rigorous attitude.


我的問題是

用but 我想說可以強調後者的重要性（質樸是重點但更需要嚴以律己的態度）


然後rigorous這個字眼我查過 有點不太像是我要的字


比較暴力、且充滿了情緒的感覺

想請教前輩們要怎麼修正會比較好？
