When a player is a top-3 shot blocker in the league at the small forward
position, you know that you have someone special on your hands. Kirilenko
blocks everything from outside shots to dunks, but that's not all - he also
averaged 8.0 rebounds-per-game, 4.3 assists-per-game and 1.5 steals-per-game
to go along with a respectable 15.3 points-per-game.

The biggest issue with Kirilenko is his injury history and his wirey frame is
certainly a factor. If Kirilenko could ever play more than 70 games per season,
he would likely be a defensive player of the year shoe-in.

Sadly, Kirilenko is on a team that gets very little media coverage and as a
result, is often excluded from the all-star team. The array of skills that
Kirilenko offers to the Jazz and his submission to the team concept will allow
him to maintain his status as perhaps the most underrated player in the NBA.
