The Utah Jazz Need Their Chiropractor Back!

Last year I attended the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Assocation (UCPA)
convention and heard Dr. Craig Buhler talk about his experience as
chiropractor for the Utah Jazz during the Malone and Stockton era. He noted
how interesting it was that Malone and Stockton were notorious for having
relatively injury-free careers (until Malone jumped ship to the Lakers).
As a matter of fact the whole Jazz team was quite blessed with minimal loss
of game time from injury. Well, Stockton and Malone were chiropractic patients
and advocates.
As a matter of fact, John Stockton was profiled during one of the NBA final
games agains the Bulls. The piece went into detail about how Stockton got
chiropractic adjustments between periods to help him perform optimally and
pain-free during the series.
At this same UCPA convention, Dr. Buhler showed a very graphic video clip of
John Stockton rolling his ankle during a game. It was so extreme that all the
doctors in the room gave a collective grown of empathetic agony. Well, Stockton
went into the locker room, received a treatment from Dr. Buhler and was back
playing within the same game. Quite incredible, really...especially if you've
ever had a bad ankle sprain.
Dr. Buhler also went over the injury man-hours of the Jazz once he left as
team chiropractor. As most of you know who follow basketball, the Jazz were
devasted by injuries over the last couple of years. Was it a coincidence
that the Jazz were healthier while they had a team chiropractor and more
injury-prone once he left? I wonder...
Well, today I read in the UCPA newsletter that the Jazz have invited Dr.
Buhler to come back and treat the players on a limited basis. Hmmm.
