   Andrei Kirilenko's much-heralded devotion to shooting drills during the
offseason has yielded little improvement so far, and the Russian is beginning
to get that old neglected feeling again.

    "It's hard to get going when you don't have ball for like half an hour,"
said Kirilenko, whose complaints after the Jazz's 96-89 loss to New Jersey on
Wednesday were more resigned than angry. "Then you get the ball finally, and
you can't make an open shot."

    That last part, he's got right, and it's not a new problem. Going into
tonight's game with the Celtics (5:30 p.m. MST, FSN Utah) Kirilenko has made
only 13 of his 35 shots so far this season, a 37.1 percent rate that's worst
among Jazz starters by a long way. He had at least four open shots during
Wednesday's 2-for-10 performance, and missed a couple of them badly.

dismal 28 percent.

    "It's depressing when you're working like two months on your shot, and
you have only probably second half of New Jersey game, maybe Phoenix game a
little bit, to get shots," said Kirilenko, who has attempted fewer than half
as many field goals as Carlos Boozer, 31 fewer than Mehmet Okur and 29 fewer
than Deron Williams. "I don't think it's something done for purpose, but I
think we need to work more on our sets,find the open position, find the way
how I can get a ball, how I can present myself to get the ball."

    That's a good idea, said Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, who lately has several

for making outside shots.
