Utah understands Hoffa

Rafael Araujo did not have many good things to say about Toronto yesterday.
The Raptors' first-round pick from 2004, who was traded to the Utah Jazz for
Kris Humphries this summer after two bad years in Toronto, feels fans of his
new team know and understand him more than fans of his old team.
By the end of his stay in Toronto, Araujo was booed regularly.
"I think the fans didn't know what I can do (in Toronto)," Araujo, a one-time
college star at Brigham Young University in Utah, said before the Jazz faced
the Raptors last night in Salt Lake City.
"Here, they know what I can do. I was a good player, I've been a good player,
I just didn't have the right, fair chance. I just think I worked hard every
day (in Toronto). It was just hard to be developed in that situation."
It's tough to say whether Araujo is developing much in Utah. The centre had
played just two games and nine minutes while missing both of his field goal
attempts this season for the NBA-leading Jazz before last night.
The Jazz opted not to pick up Araujo's fourth-year contract option (next year)
before the season.
NO BIG DEAL
Legendary Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan entered last night just one win away
from reaching the 900-mark as that team's coach and seven away from reaching
1,000 for his career. But those numbers underwhelm Sloan.
"It really doesn't mean anything other than the fact I've had a job for a
long time in the same spot," Sloan said.
Sloan then was asked if that is a good thing.
"Yeah," he said. "I do like to eat and I'm pretty good at that."
QUICK NAME CHANGE
Between shootaround and the game yesterday, the name of the Utah Jazz's
arena changed from the Delta Center to EnergySolutions Arena.
A banner with the new name covered the main Delta Center sign in the
afternoon.
Delta Air Lines is bankrupt and could be facing a hostile takeover by US
Airways.
EnergySolutions, meanwhile, is a Salt Lake company that specializes in the
disposing and recycling of low-level radioactive waste.
This prompted one wag to tag the arena, "The Dump."
