: In late November, it's merely a mirage.

: Jazz (12-2), still wondering if they are as good as their record sounds. They
: are the only team in the East with 10 victories. Only one victory, though,
: has come against a team that currently has a winning record. That's called
: good scheduling.

: The Jazz and the Magic have been winning games in similar fashion, relying on
: great shooting, good depth and a dominating big man. The Jazz and Magic are
: ranked Nos. 1-2 in field-goal percentage, shooting 49.1 percent and 48.8
: percent respectively. The Jazz have been averaging 37.5 points from their
: reserves (third-best in the NBA), and the Magic have been getting 33.8 points
: (sixth-best). The Magic are 8-1 when their reserves outscore their opponents'
: bench players.
: The Magic have ridden the continued improvement of young center Dwight
: Howard, who already has three games this season of at least 20 points and 20
: rebounds. The Jazz have been topped by power forward Carlos Boozer, who is
: averaging 21.9 points and 12.7 rebounds. He is second in the league in
: rebounding, trailing only Howard, who is averaging 13.5.
: "I'm anxious to see how we do on this trip,'' said Brian Hill. "These trips
: are the biggest challenge you face during the course of a season, and
: especially when you're gone this long.''
