其實我覺得昨天教練的調度好像有點問題，讓第二節產生了得分大斷層，
但這篇文章說明Sloan還是對菜鳥Brown寄予厚望

因為漁夫拉到先發得分後衛，讓身為DW的遞補Brown的責任更加重大
雖然有許多人認為昨天對尼克的比賽中Brown犯了一些嚴重的錯誤讓爵士
錯失贏球的機會。Sloan說：『Dee Brwon是個NBA菜鳥，他的確會一些犯錯。』

DW以每48分鐘來看的平均數據是：22.6分、12.1助攻，Brwon則是：8.3分、7助攻
比較大的問題是Brown每場 4.3 次的失誤，跟目前總計34投7中，20.6％的命中率。

在伊利諾與Brown共事過三個球季的DW也對Brown有正面的評語：
『他表現越來越好了』『他是那種會盡全力去完成任務的人』
而Sloan其實也是看到了這個特點，所以讓他在8場出場的比賽中至少有7場超過9分鐘

Sloan說：『他從不退縮，他非常地堅毅』
『他非常渴望在聯盟打球，這對他來說是一件大事』
『每當他踏入球場，他就準備全力以赴』

Brown甚至在他的左前臂刺了一個斗大的「NBA」。
Brown說：『在這個階段最重要的就是自信，每個人都有能力，但我想要得到更多』
『我知道教練的要求是什麼，而我必須做得更好，我能夠犯錯的空間很小，
我也必須更加快腳步』

Brown不清楚要多久才能達到要求，Sloan自己也不清楚。

ATLANTA - The Dee Brown experiment can't be called a success.
But it's not necessarily a failure, either.

    "He's a rookie. He's going to make mistakes," said Jazz coach
Jerry Sloan. "You know there's going to be some of that."


    There have been plenty. But Sloan has stuck with the 6-foot guard
for nearly three weeks now, ever since deciding his original backup
point guard was his best option to fill a nagging void at shooting guard.

    Derek Fisher has been in the starting lineup ever since, and while
the veteran occasionally still assumes quarterbacking duties when
Deron Williams sits down, Brown generally has become Sloan's first choice
as Williams' backup.

    Sloan acknowledges he didn't know what he would get when he called
upon Brown. In fact, that's the point. "I don't know who he is," the
coach said, so he and his staff decided that since the 22-year-old rookie
had practiced well, they might as well find out.

    Brown has received at least nine minutes of playing time in seven of
the eight games since then.

    The results are mixed, at best. Brown, taken 46th in last June's draft,
has brought energy and attitude to the floor, which pleases Sloan. He just
wishes there were a few more points and assists.

    Brown is averaging 8.3 points and 7.0 assists per 48 minutes, average
or mildly below average for a point guard. By contrast, Williams puts up
22.6 points and 12.1 assists per 48 minutes

    More problematic is Brown's 4.3 turnovers, compared with Williams' 3.7.
And Brown has made only seven shots all season, in 34 tries - that's a 20.6
percent success rate.

    "He's getting better," assured Williams, who played alongside Brown for
three seasons at Illinois. "He's the kind of guy who will do everything he
can to succeed."

That's what Sloan sees, too, though it's not a unanimous opinion. A pair
of NBA scouts watching the Jazz's loss in New York on Monday insisted that
Brown's play seriously damages Utah's chances to win.

    But the coach likes Brown's grit, and is willing to trust that the game
will come around soon. "He's never backed away. He's got a toughness about
him," Sloan said Monday. "He wants to play in this league, and that's a huge
thing. When he steps out there on the floor, he's going to play hard."

    Brown doesn't care why he's being called upon. He is just intent on
making the change permanent. As permanent as, say, the large NBA logo he
recently had tattooed on his left forearm.

    "It's about confidence at this level. Everyone has ability, but I just
want to get more comfortable," Brown said. "I understand what he wants me to
do, but I have to go beyond that. My margin of error is short, so I have to
get better quickly."

    How quickly? Even Sloan isn't sure.

    "It all depends upon who we're playing and what's going on in the game,
" the coach said of his plans for Brown. "I think he's done OK, for where
we picked him in the draft."
