JAZZ NOTES: Oh, baby! Kirilenko family gets new addition

    The Jazz will hold their annual charity fund-raiser tonight, but Andrei
Kirilenko won't take part. He will be busy welcoming a new member to his
family.

    爵士隊即將在今晚舉行一年一度的慈善募款活動，但是AK將不會參加，他要會為他家
即將誕生的新成員而忙碌。

    Doctors plan to induce labor with Kirilenko's wife Masha, the Jazz
forward said, and his second son - to be named Stepan - will be born sometime
during the day.

    AK說“醫生計畫讓內人Masha進行分娩”，而AK的第二個兒子─將被命名為Stepan─
會在今天的某個時辰誕生。

    "Masha and I, we're so excited for baby. I'm in love with babies,"
Kirilenko said.

    AK說“小內和我對小孩的誕生感到興奮，我已經愛上小孩了”

    So is his first son Fedor, who turned four last week. "He's excited, but
he doesn't really know what to expect. We just tell him it's baby, and he's
happy," Kirilenko said.

    同樣興奮的情緒也在AK的長子─Fedor─身上產生，他在上周已經滿四歲了。AK說“
他非常興奮，但他並不明白自己究竟在期待些什麼。小內和我告訴他那是一個嬰兒，而他

    Don't expect to see the baby anytime soon, though. Under Christian
Orthodox tradition, the family does not allow anyone other than close family
to see the newborn child for several weeks. "Before you go to church and have
pope [or priest] put the cross on him, you cannot show him to anybody," said
Kirilenko, who kept Fedor at home for the first six months of his life. "He
can be cursed until you have blessing." 

    然而，別期待你會在短時間內看到嬰兒。根據東正教的傳統，除了與嬰兒血緣親近的

    The Kirilenko family won't be four for long, he said. "I want as much
babies as we can and Masha's same way. We will have many," he said. "Adopt
maybe, too. Lots of babies."

    AK家中的成員不會是四個人太久，AK爆料“我想要越多小孩越好，小內也是一樣的想
法，我們將會擁有許多孩子”AK補充說“或許會考慮認養(小孩)，很多很多小孩”

    Mehmet Okur's wife, Yeliz, is expected to give birth to the couple's
first child, a daughter, in about two weeks.

    Okur的妻子─Yeliz預計在兩周內生下夫妻兩人的第一個孩子─是一個女兒。

    Boozer accepts U.S. team invite

    Boozer接受了美國國家隊的邀請。

    Carlos Boozer's summer is now officially spoken for. Boozer has been
contacted by Jerry Colangelo, USA Basketball's managing director, and has
committed to play for the national team in its Olympic qualifying tournament
this August in Las Vegas.

    Boozer今夏的計畫正式宣布了。美國籃球總管JC已經與Boozer接洽，而Boozer也同意
為美國在今年八月於賭城舉行的奧運資格賽盡一分心力。

   "He said, 'We want you there,' and I told him I'd be thrilled to play,"
said Boozer, who won a bronze medal with the Americans at the Athens Olympics
in 2004. USA Basketball has not announced his addition to the team yet, but
Boozer said that should come shortly.

    “(JC)說“我希望你為國家隊效力”，而我告訴他我會很感動的去參與”，Boozer如
是說，他在2004年的雅典奧運跟隨國家隊出賽獲得了銅牌。美國籃球目前尚未宣布Boozer
加入的消息，但Boozer表示消息將在不久之後公布。

    To automatically qualify for the Beijing Games, the U.S. must finish
first or second in a 10-team tournament made up of Western Hemisphere teams,
with the gold-medal game in the Thomas & Mack Center on Sept. 2.

    為了取得進軍北京奧運的資格，美國隊必須在由西半球國家組成的十隊競賽中取得第

    Some coaches have been concerned that their players will become fatigued by
the extra summer work, but Jerry Sloan said he would never presume to tell
someone they shouldn't go. "I would play for my country," Sloan said. In
fact, he tried; While still playing at Evansville, Sloan tried out for the
1964 Olympic team, which won a gold medal in Tokyo. "I guess I wasn't good
enough," he said of being cut.

    有些教練會關心他們的球員是否會因為夏天額外的工作(奧運比賽)而感到疲勞，但
Sloan說他不會多管閒事去告訴任何人他不應該去(這是一種案示嗎@@)。“我會
為我的國家效力”，Sloan如是說。事實上，當Sloan還在Evansbille打球的時候，他試著
為1964年的奧運國家隊效力，那年美國在東京贏得了金牌。對於當年沒有被選入國家隊，
