Strengths: The big man is a bit of a mystery, putting up nice numbers in the
underwhelming Ukrainian league. He is very athletic and agile, moving like a
player four or five inches shorter. Fesenko has an NBA body with long arms
and good core strength. He is very quick for a big man, and can shoot the
ball better then most 7-footers.
Weaknesses: Fesenko is a downright awful defender. His defense and rebounding
will surely need to improve if he hopes to have a successful career in the
NBA. Fesenko's low post moves and footwork are both very raw, and could
surely use some development from a solid big man coach.
Outlook: Fesenko really suffers from underexposure because it is virtually
impossible to get a glimpse of him. He is a sleeper, with the large majority
of NBA teams dying to get a look at the big man. Look to see Fesenko picked
somewhere in the second round, if he decides to stay in this year's draft.
If he pulls out, he surely has the opportunity to land in the first round of
the 2008 draft.

BIOGRAPHY: A 20-year-old from the Ukraine, Fesenko is considered one of the
top 15 centers available in the draft. He is a project, who needs major work
on his footwork, and post moves. Scouts like Fesenko because he can run the
floor well, is willing to play hard and is athletic. Unlike most European big
men, appears willing to be physical in the paint. Already has a solid NBA
body, with long arms and good core strength. Leaping ability is only average.
The Pistons had seen him last season, but other NBA teams became aware of him
after he came to the United States and worked out privately for other squads.
Fesenko played for SK Cherkassy, a first-division squad in the Ukraine. Size
and potential make him a potential sleeper, but needs to play well in
pre-draft camps and get good coaching once in the NBA to have a chance to
succeed.
