The Rocky Mtn. Revue Taught Us... What? David James Reporting Jul 21, 2007 12:03 pm US/Mountain The Rocky Mtn. Revue is over, so here is the lowdown. Paul Millsap was the MVP and it wasn't close. He dominated, inside and out. Kevin O'Connor told PK and me on 1320 KFAN that they will look at Millsap as a small forward at times next season. As advertised, Morris Almond can shoot the ball. The three-pointer from the top of the key seemed tough for him, but he knocked down a few from the wing, where the line is closer. He swooped to the hoop, hit mid-range jumpers, posted up and knocked down fadeaways and then against the Bulls in the 4th quarter of the final game, he hit a couple of runners. Almond wasn't a great defender on the ball, but he wasn't embarrassed either. Hard to believe he could do worse than the guys who gave up 50 points to Michael Redd, Ray Allen Kobe Bryant and ... well there were too many to remember. The next roster question may be Araujo or Fesenko. DJ I've heard a lot of people say the Jazz should re-sign Hoffa because "he knows the system". Apparently that's the only compliment that can bestowed upon him, but as far as a compliment, isn't saying a player "knows the system" like saying your quarterback "knows how to manage a game" or the bruiser your wingman ends up with "has a good personality". And this system I keep hearing about...was it devised by Stephen Hawking? Do you need a special decoder device to crack it? If you listen to Jerry after almost any game, it doesn't sound like anyone knows this system, so what makes Hoffa so special, because according to some Jazz fans he's found the Rosetta Stone. If only the stone could release any discernible basketball talent, he might be worth keeping around. Later, Corey I think Araujo is done with the Jazz, barring a trade that opens up a roster spot. He has a great attitude, works hard, and just isn't quite good enough. The 2nd round draft pick Kyrylo Fesenko was a nice roll of the dice. He is 7 feet tall, he runs well, has good lateral quickness and likes to block shots. He is still raw. He doesn't block out and his free throws are an adventure as he struggled, and failed, to shoot 50% from the line. Still I think the Jazz would be better off developing the younger Fesenko, even if it means letting Hoffa go. http://kutv.com/davidjames/local_story_202051509.html -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 219.135.156.167
