Utah Jazz: Price thrives as Williams' backup
沈默的王牌：朗尼‧普萊斯

One of Jazz forward Carlos Boozer's new favorite things to do is raise his
voice whenever the subject of guard Ronnie Price's play comes up after games.
It's no coincidence that Price's locker is within shouting distance of
Boozer's at EnergySolutions Arena.
騙人布最近最大的興趣就是在賽後論及普萊斯的表現時大聲叫好，
想當然爾，不遠處的普萊斯可是將這些話都聽得一清二楚。
As he bounced from questions about the Jazz's Northwest Division lead and
revenge victory Saturday night over the Hawks, Boozer all of a sudden veered
in a different direction. "And Ronnie Price was balling!" Boozer bellowed.
"Put that in the paper, baby!" Given his humble nature, all Price could do
was shake his head and laugh. His play since taking over the Jazz's backup
point guard job from Jason Hart in the last game before the All-Star break
has done the talking for him.
每當記者問到關於爵士目前稱霸西北組或週末對老鷹的復仇之戰時，
騙人布講著講著就會忍不住岔開話題：

不過對個性謙沖的普萊斯來說，他唯一能做的就是沈默地邊微笑邊搖頭。
在明星週末前正式取代哈特成為第一替補控衛的他，地位早已不言可喻。
Price totaled 10 points and four assists in 15 minutes Saturday, with the
Jazz outscoring Atlanta by 16 points in the 15 minutes he played. It was the
fifth time in 35 games that Price has scored in double figures, while the
four assists were a career high.
普萊斯在對老鷹的比賽中上場才十五分鐘便有十分四助攻的績效，
帶領爵士在那段時間裡取得十六分的領先，
這是普萊斯三十五場比賽裡第五次得分達到雙位數，
而四次助攻則是生涯新高。
It took Price more than 50 games to supplant Hart, but there might be no
going back for Jazz coach Jerry Sloan. Price has worked the pick-and-roll
with Boozer, attacked for layups and three-pointers of his own and played
inspired defense.
雖然花了超過五十場比賽的時間才將哈特踢掉，
不過對教皇來說，普萊斯的位置是越來越穩固了，
他能跟布瑟打屁啃肉、用飛的上籃、三分有準頭，甚至防守也有一套。
"I just want to provide energy when I step on the court and kind of get the
guys around me to play with energy,'' Price said. "That's what a point
guard's supposed to do. He's supposed to motivate the team, he's supposed to
be the coach that's on the court."
「我想我上場就是為了給隊友注入活力與能量，」普萊斯說，
「那正是一個控球後衛該要做到的事 — 做場上的教練。」
The question all along was if Price was best suited as a point guard or a
shooting guard. He was one of college basketball's leading scorers at Utah
Valley State and briefly auditioned to replace Gordan Giricek as the Jazz's
backup shooting guard in November.
問題是普萊斯的最適位置到底是控球還是得分後衛呢？
他在大學時代可是聯盟最殺的得分手之一，
而去年十一月時他還一度取代GG擔任替補得分後衛哩！
But Price has thrived as Deron Williams' backup ever since Hart suffered a
back injury in late January. In particular, Price and Boozer have played well
off each other, with three of Price's assists in Saturday's game going to
Boozer.
不過一月份哈特受傷後，普萊斯便改任蝶龍的替補，且表現愈來愈好，
尤其他跟布瑟也搭配得很好，事實上那天普萊斯有三次助攻都是布瑟投進的。
"Ronnie's a scoring point guard and we're turning him into a point guard,''
Boozer said. "We do play good together because if they don't guard him, he's
going to score. If they double him, he's going to dish it off and I'm going
to get a dunk on somebody."
「我會說小朗尼是個會得分的控球後衛，」騙人布說，
「我們之所以是好搭檔，是因為如果沒人守他，他就會直接取分，」
「但若是被包夾，他會把球傳出來，然後我就會把籃框給灌爆...偶爾啦！」
For his part, Price said of Boozer: "He sets good screens and he draws so
much attention, it just makes it easy to make things happen on the
pick-and-rolls. Deron and Booz do it all game, so I just try to fill in."
普萊斯也對布瑟眉來眼去：「他掩護得很好，又能夠吸引敵手注意，」
「這讓屁啃肉的執行容易許多，當然啦，蝶龍才是正宮，我只是個小妾咩。」
Price also buried two three-pointers, including one to open the fourth
quarter. He is shooting 38.2 percent from three-point range but teams still
dare him to shoot. "They can sit back all they want,'' he said. "Sometimes
they'll fall, sometimes they won't."
普萊斯在對老鷹的比賽中還投進了兩顆三分球，
現今他的三分球命中率是38.2%，
「儘管放心交給我表現，」普萊斯說，「大概都會維持在這個水準啦！」
The biggest beneficiary might be Williams, who only had to play 33 minutes
against Atlanta because of the lift Price gave the Jazz. Shouldering less of
the load can only help Williams heading into the playoffs.
普萊斯這陣子的爆發，最大的受益者莫過於蝶龍了，
由於替補表現太好，蝶龍在對老鷹的比賽中只需要上場33分鐘。
這也有助於他保持更充沛的體力來應付即將到來的季後賽。
"He's been playing great, man,'' Williams said of Price. "Ever since he's
been given the full-time backup minutes, I've been real proud of him.
「老天爺，他打得棒透了！」蝶龍這麼說，
「我真的很以他為榮。」
"He's been playing great basketball for us. He's shooting the ball well,
attacking the pick-and-roll, passing. He's just being real solid. I thought
we played better with him out there [Saturday] than we did with me."
「籃子準、會擋切、又會傳球，能說他不強嗎？」
「我甚至覺得那天他帶領球隊的時候要比我好太多。」
Williams mentioned the leads the Jazz built with Price in the game that
vanished when he departed. Price, meanwhile, frames his role as focusing on
defense first and taking it personally when his man scores.
蝶龍提到那天普萊斯上場後打出大幅領先的高潮，
在普萊斯下場後就被隊友敗個一乾二淨的窘狀時說道。
不過普萊斯自認他上場的首要任務還是在於防守，
同時要能一夫當關，好讓隊友順利取分。
"My job,'' Price said, "is still just to maintain whatever lead that we have
or, if we don't have a lead, try to bring some energy defensively and get a
lead."
「我的工作就是讓領先的分數不致敗光，」普萊斯說，
「如果不幸落後，就要激勵大家守住每一球，最後要回領先！」
啊～這就是我們沈默的王牌 — 朗尼‧普萊斯。
