MINNEAPOLIS -There's little use for the Jazz in looking ahead to the playoffs
in May and June when they can't even beat the Los Angeles Clippers and
Minnesota Timberwolves on the road at the end of February.

連對上快艇跟灰狼都可以輸得一乾二淨的球隊，
竟然還在肖想兩個月後進季後賽？？？

So much for the gift the schedule presented with four games still to play
against the Western Conference's worst team. The Timberwolves came back to
bite the Jazz in a 111-100 loss Tuesday night at Target Center.

賽程表上寫著對明尼蘇達的比賽猶有四場，
原本應該是天上掉下來的補血大禮，
誰想得到爵士第一場便慘遭灰狼反噬？？？

The Jazz went into the fourth quarter tied 72-72 with the 12-43 Timberwolves
and collapsed on the way to trailing by as many as 15. Minnesota won the
final period 39-28 and left two questions for the Jazz to answer afterward:
What and who?

第三節打完，爵士與戰績僅12勝的灰狼打成72分平手，
第四節卻再度上演大家早已耳熟能詳的崩潰戲碼，
落後一度高達15分，最終則讓灰狼狂得39分，
讓人不禁想問：鳩竟～～～～～誰才是戰犯？？？

What happened to the team that went into the All-Star break having won 12 of
13? The Jazz squandered the chance to take a 3 1/2 -game division lead on
Denver and followed Friday's loss to one team destined for the draft lottery
(the Clippers) with another Tuesday.

鬼才相信這是支明星賽前締造13戰12勝的隊伍，
爵士平白浪費將與丹佛的勝差拉大到3.5場的大好機會，
還連續輸給快艇與灰狼這兩支注定跌入樂透區的後段班隊伍。

"You think that a team that has a record like that," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan
said, "subconsciously I guess you think that they're not going to be able to
come after you as hard because of the record. But teams get ready to play you.

"Both teams got ready to play us and they both deserved to win. If you don't

four of them for the Timberwolves: Al Jefferson (22), Rashad McCants (22),
Ryan Gomes (20) and Randy Foye (20).

It was only the fifth time in the last 18 years a team had four players score
20 points or more against the Jazz. The last was Milwaukee (Tim Thomas,
Michael Redd, Sam Cassell and Ray Allen) in a January 2003 game.

"We've got to figure some things out," Deron Williams said. "We definitely
don't want to get back to where we were in December. That's the most
important thing. I think we just learned that when we don't help each other
out, we're not unselfish, that we don't have success."

Carlos Boozer finished with 34 points and eight rebounds but the Jazz
committed a season-high 24 turnovers, which Minnesota converted into 22
points. Mehmet Okur had 11 points and 11 rebounds but made just 3 of 10 shots
and struggled all game.

"He stayed on the perimeter," Sloan said of Okur. "They switched smaller guys
on him. Sometimes you've got to go to the basket with a smaller guy on you.
You can't look for outside shots all the time."

The Jazz gave up a 14-4 run to start the fourth quarter as Minnesota - which
lost by a point to San Antonio last week - took an 86-76 lead. Okur passed on
two shots and was short on another as the Jazz came up empty on five of six
possessions.

第四節一開始灰狼打出一波14-4的凌厲攻勢，
而爵士六次持球有五次都是無功而返的慘。

Foye stroked a three-pointer for Minnesota and Craig Smith pounded in a
basket after Minnesota grabbed three offensive rebounds. The Timberwolves
came in ranked 29th in scoring (averaging 93.4 points a game), but totaled
nearly 18 points more than their average Tuesday.

灰狼過去每場平均得分是聯盟倒數第二，僅93.4分，
光今晚的得分就比平均數要多了18分。

The Jazz went back to a zone defense in any attempt to stop the Timberwolves
late. They were within 90-82 with 4:52 to play before Gomes nailed a
three-pointer. At the other end, Okur faked a shot, tried to drive and had
the ball poked free from behind.

"We gave them a little too much confidence," Boozer said, "and they took
advantage of it and ran with it."

Only four days earlier, the Jazz gave up 114 points in losing to the
Clippers, a team averaging 94.3 points a game. The Jazz have now dropped four
games this season (Miami, New York, Minnesota and the Clippers) to teams that
reside in last place in their division.

四天前，爵士才讓平均每場得分僅94.3分的快艇狂灌114分，
現下爵士倒是締造了一個紀錄：

"It's pretty sour," Williams said, "you know [losing to] two teams that
aren't going to be in the playoffs. Denver's been losing, so we've got a
chance to spread that lead out and we're not making the most of it.

in the fourth quarter.

unit of Mehmet Okur and four reserves on the floor.
