McNamara rolls the dice

Bill Neff says Gerry just wasn't able to be Gerry overseas. The teams he
played for in Greece just did not use Gerry McNamara in a way where Coach
Boeheim and many NBA teams might use Gerry McNamara. That's why Gerry's
agent is now rolling the dice on the
Utah Jazz, a team that has extended an
invitation to McNamara to attend their preseason training camp. And while
even Neff admits it may be a long shot, the exposure and experience that
comes from it may bode well for his clients NBA Future.
McNamara has yet to make an NBA roster since graduating from SU, but
has played for a number of professional teams. Besides playing in Greece,
he finished the 2006-2007 season with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA
Developmental League. He will report to Utah's camp in time for it's
September 29th opening.
