The Boozer Rumor Of The Day
Carlos Boozer will be the center of the trade rumor discussion until he
actually lands somewhere, but
sources close to several parts of the ongoing
discussion have told HOOPSWORLD that there's little truth to what's floating
around today. ESPN is reporting that the Chicago Bulls are interested in
acquiring Boozer, but the Bulls themselves deny any interest. Boozer solves
a very clear need for them, but they believe they can address the areas that
Boozer solves in other ways. They have two roster spots to fill, one of which
will likely be filled with a value-priced free agent, the other will likely
come from their summer league team. As for Boozer, he gave an interview to
WMVP in which he said he has met with the Jazz and they have agreed to trade
him, however David Locke of Jazz flagship radio station 1320 KJZZ is
reporting that his source is telling him
Jazz management denies having met
with Boozer or making any reaching any such agreement.
It's clear the Utah Jazz want to move Carlos Boozer, and Carlos Boozer
absolutely wants to be moved. The Jazz prefer to match Portland's offer sheet
to restricted free agent Paul Millsap and make him their starting power
forward of the future. But the idea that the Chicago Bulls have any interest
in making that happen is baseless. The Miami HEAT seem to be the most
interested in Boozer, but they lack the pieces needed to make that happen.
