8/24 10:00am - Memo, Fesenko, Another Big.

A bunch of short tidbits today.  We could call this a mailbag because these
are most of the questions I am receiving.

MEMO

Memo continues to work hard in his rehab.  All reports have him being very
diligent. He has been shooting and doing a little running.  He will be heading
down to the training center in Santa Barbara to do some more intense training.

It is still unclear when he will be ready.  The opening of the season seems
to be a lot to ask and maybe the more important question is when will he be
right on the floor again rather than when will he get on the floor again.


FESENKO

Why no news on Fes?  Fesenko is a restricted free agent.  Therefore, the Jazz
have made a qualifying offer (1.1 million) that tells exactly what he will
get paid this season.  

Fesenko is shopping the market to see what a 7’1 300 pounder that averaged
2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8 minutes a game is worth in the wacky world
of the NBA.   As of this moment he has not received any offers that are worth
signing.

Therefore, since he knows what he is getting from the Jazz and he hasn't
gotten any offer to force the Jazz into a longer term deal the waiting game
is on until he either gets an offer or concedes.


OTHER BIGS

Kevin O'Connor has been honest that the Jazz need another big and he would
like a veteran big.   Yesterday, one of those went of the market when Kwame
Brown signed with Charlotte.
