Josh Howard Hopes To Return In December

Wizards forward Josh Howard hopes to return to the court during the second
week of December.

He has been cleared to participate in full contact drills.

Howard has been out since having surgery on his left knee on March 16.

"I see the sun peeking over the horizon," Howard said. "My biggest concern is
no setbacks."

Jazz, Sloan Close To Extension

The Jazz and head coach Jerry Sloan are close to a contract extension.

"It's pretty much done, as far as that's concerned," Sloan told NBA.com of
the pending agreement.

Sloan, 68, is in the final year of his current contract, which is also his
23rd as Utah's coach.
