Okur says that he doesn't plan to retire
Jazz center Mehmet Okur said that he never felt right. Not during his
multiple comeback attempts this year. Not while battling recurring
back pain, the latent effects of offseason left Achilles tendon
surgery or shrugging off a freak right ankle injury. Too many
setbacks, too much downtime.
背痛、左腳Achilles腱手術、右腳踝傷勢....太多的傷病，斷斷續續的上場時間
讓爵士中鋒Mehmet Okur有些沮喪，他稱自己從來沒感覺身體舒服過。
"I kept trying day in and day out. It didn't work out," said Okur,
prior to Utah's 121-117 overtime home defeat to the New Orleans
Hornets on Thursday. "And I'm one of those guys who really don't like
to sit. And this year really didn't go well for me. Everything's
downhill for me. ... I tried everything and we tried everything —
everybody did a great job. It just didn't work out."
「每天我都在不停地嘗試，但沒有成功。」Okur在今天爵士與黃蜂比賽開始前說
道：「而我是那種在場下坐不住的人，今年對我來說不是很順利，所有事情都在
走下坡路....我一直在努力嘗試，球隊也一直在嘗試——所有人都做得很好。只
是沒能成功。」
"It wasn't really a good thing about coming back early," said Okur,
who made his season debut Dec. 17, 2010, but sprained his right ankle
just three days later during pregame warmups.
這是Okur在3月16日宣佈賽季報銷以來第一次接受媒體採訪，他承認上一次受傷後
復出時間過早影響到傷勢。去年4月，Okur跟腱受傷，直到12月17日才完成本賽季
首度上場，但是僅僅3天後，他就在熱身過程中扭傷了右腳踝。
"But I wasn't thinking right because I was hungry and I just wanted to
be on the floor and play. If you go back 11 months ago, I wouldn't
have done the same thing. I would've wait to get 100 percent, then I
could play."
「復出太早真的不是一件好事。」Okur說：「但是我當時想錯了，因為我很想復
出，我只想上場打球。如果再回到11個月前，我不會再做出同樣的選擇，我一定
會等自己100%康復後再選擇復出。」
Okur, 31, averaged career lows in points (4.9), rebounds (2.3) and
minutes (12.9) this season, playing in just 13 games.
31歲的Okur本賽季僅僅上場打了13場比賽，每場得分、籃板以及上場時間都是職
業生涯新低，分別是4.9分2.3籃板以及12.9分鐘的上場時間。
Okur has not considered retiring. "I've got a few more years I can
give my best," Okur said. "At least until 35, 36, and kind of go from
there."
儘管情況並不順利，但是Okur並沒有打算退役。「至少要打到35、36歲，然後再
看情況。」Okur說。
