Atletico Madrid approach Valencia Salva

Atletico Madrid have approached Valencia about striker Salva Ballesta.
Coach Caesar Ferrando and his technical staff are convinced Salva is the
perfect fit for their plans for the coming season and are keen to bring the
striker to the Mestalla.
Salva is prepared to take a wage-cut to join Atletico, a move which has
impressed the club's board.
He also has offers from unnamed Premiership clubs, but Salva would prefer
to stay in Spain and would jump at the chance to join Atletico this month.
