Valencia reject Atletico Madrid approach for Rufete

Valencia have rejected an approach from Atletico Madrid for winger Rufete.
Atletico chief Toni Munoz received short shrift from Valencia yesterday
when inquiring about Rufete's availability. Valencia director Manuel Llorente
informed Munoz that coach Claudio Ranieri regarded the midfielder as a crucial
part of his new season plans.
However, Atletico won't give up on Rufete just yet, with club
intermediaries insisting that the midfielder is considering his future at the
Mestalla following the arrival of Stefano Fiore from Lazio.
