Valencia CF, Champion of the European Super Cup
Valencia CF has been proclaimed champion of the European Supercup for the
second time in its history, after defeating FC Porto, current Champions League
title holders, 2-1 in the Louis II Stadium at Monaco, in a sensational match
of the men directed by Claudio Ranieri.
With this new title, Valencia CF keeps its European reign. Last season the
team won a UEFA Cup that seemed to be small. This team looked like the one
that won in Goteborg, hit strong when necessary and from time to time devoured
the rival. The che team played much better than Porto, knew how to handle the
game, the rhythm of the play and hit better to add its third title of the
year and to be crowned as the new kings of the European football.
Claudio Ranieri: "Our Happiness is Complete, Complete"
"Our happiness is complete because on Tuesday we were very hurt and the
kids have shown its strength to win this match", said Claudio Ranieri. "To
win a title is always a reason of pride. I left Valencia with a Cup title and
I return with the Supercup, and this makes me feel proud"...
