Barcelona rival Valencia for Ezquerro

Barcelona have joined the race for Athletic Bilbao striker Santi Ezquerro.
Ezquerro is off contract in June and yesterday was forced to deny reports
that he had already struck a deal with Valencia for next season.
Barca coach Frank Rijkaard is also keen on the striker and has discussed
Ezquerro's signing with sports director Txiki Begiristain.
The experienced forward is expected to leave Bilbao in the summer after
being offered a new contract on reduced terms.
Ezquerro is well aware that both Valencia and Barca are prepared to at
least match his current salary to take him away from Bilbao.
