MARCHENA GIVES VALENCIA C.F. THE T-SHIRT OF HIS FIRST GOAL WITH THE
NATIONAL TEAM


    Valencia C.F. player Carlos Marchena, scored the only goal of the
Spanish National Team against Bosnia-Herzegovina, that involved a vital
draw in the injury time. As the player wanted to dedicate his goal to
Valencia C.F., at the end of the match, he gave his T-shirt to the club
as a proof of gratitude, affection and engagement. In fact, the midfielder
is linked to the club since 2001-2002 season. Although he was born in
Sevilla, he feels special affection and engagement for Valencia C.F., its
supporters and the city of Valencia because they have witnessed the most
glorious moments of his career such as 2001-2002 and 2003-2004 Leagues,
the UEFA Cup last season or Europe’s Supercup. Yesterday, he wanted to
show these feelings dedicating his first goal with the National Team to
Valencia C.F. in a special way.

    In minute 96, when it seemed that the Spanish Team, clearly superior
to the rival, would not be able to score, Marchena gave life to the National
Team with a goal, the first one scored by this defence with the National
Team, that also gives the team the provisional leadership of its group for
the qualification for the World Cup.
