Rider Eric Palante found dead on Dakar Rally
Belgian rider Eric Palante was found dead on Friday morning following the
Dakar Rally's fifth stage.
於周五早上尋獲Eric Palante遺體
According to organisers, the 50-year-old's body was found at the 143-km mark
of Thursday's stage, the longest of the event, after a vehicle was sent to
recover him on Friday morning.
於週四賽段(SS5)143公里處被巡查的工作人員卡車發現
Organisers said they had not received any alerts during the stage, and that
the causes of Palante's death were being investigated.
官方說他們在此賽段時沒有收到任何警報，死因仍待警方調查
Palante, a father of five, was competing in the Dakar for the 11th time.
一家五口之父，今年第11次出征達卡
The Belgian is the 27th competitor killed in the rally's history.
