前言﹕原文頗長﹐不要期待我翻譯完或正確XD

Military History: A historiography

by GUNNAR ARTEUS

It should be stated at once that this article encompasses only
Western historiography, which means that e.g. Arabic and Chinese
history-writing have been unaccounted for. This is, needless to
say, highly regrettable but has been enforced by circumstances.
The present writer, being illiterate in non-European languages,
has elected to say nothing rather than something, which is not
really well-informed, about the writing of military history in
Africa and Asia.

開宗明義﹐本文內容僅至於西方史觀。換言之﹐並不包括來自其他地方的史
觀﹐比如說中國或阿拉伯。因為資料與篇幅有限﹐故不得不為此感到遺憾。
現代的西方歷史學者大多不通歐洲以外的語言﹐往往對於歐洲以外的歷史發
展﹐寧可保持緘默﹐不做任何評論﹐蓋亞非等各地之軍事歷史﹐皆難以獲得
足夠的資訊。
