LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem nails a fourth consecutive week as Official
Singles Chart number one while Adele’s 21 marks its fourteenth week as the
Official Albums Chart number one, the Official Charts Company confirms today.
Party Rock Anthem the first UK number one for electro hip-hop duo LMFAO, has
already notched up sales of over 400,000 to make it the sixth biggest-selling
single of the year so far. Only two other singles in the last three years
have spent four continuous weeks as Official Singles Chart number one; Adele’
s Someone Like You (2011) and Lily Allen’s The Fear (2009).

There are three new entries in this week’s Official Singles Chart Top 10;
David Guetta’s Where Them Girls At featuring Flo Rida and Minaj is straight
in at number three giving Guetta the twelfth Top 20 of his career which
includes the four number ones When Love Takes Over (2009), Sexy Chick (2009),
Gettin’ Over You (2010) and Flo-Rida’s Club Can’t Handle Me featuring
Guetta (2010). Jessie J’s Nobody’s Perfect climbs to this week’s number
nine from last week’s 18 following her Official Singles Chart number one
Price Tag (Feb 2011) and US soul sensation Aloe Blacc is this week’s number
10 up from last week’s number 15 with the critically acclaimed I Need A
Dollar.
Adele still dominates the Official Albums Chart with 21 selling over 70% more
units than its nearest rival, Helplessness Blues, the second album from
Seattle sextet Fleet Foxes, which is this week’s highest new entry at number
two and pushes Adele’s 19 into third place.
Adele’s 21 has also spent the last five weeks at number one in the USA and
has worldwide sales to date of 6 million.

Helplessness Blues gives Fleet Foxes their highest Official Albums Chart

There are two other new entries in the Official Albums Chart Top 10; Jennifer
Lopez’s Love is straight in at number six giving the singer/actress/model
the fourth Top 10 album of her career while New York trio Beastie Boys mark
24 years in hip hop with their sixth Top 10 album which includes the number
one album Hello Nasty (1998).
Ellie Goulding’s debut and former number one album Lights is a re-entry at
number 10 up from last week’s number 23. The singer recently performed her
version of Elton John’s Your Song at Prince William & Kate Middleton’s
wedding dinner.
