Frank Thomas has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation because of

  tendinitis  in his surgically repaired left ankle.

  The White Sox slugger had a cortisone shot Tuesday to alleviate the

  discomfort that has persisted since he began his rehab in early January.

  Now Thomas can't resume workouts until at least Monday.

 The White Sox may keep outfielder Scott Podsednik out of the starting lineup

 until at least Friday because of a strained right groin.
