CHICAGO -- Prior to tonight's game, the Chicago White Sox reinstated
right-handed pitcher Orlando Hernandez from the 15-day disabled list
and designated right-handed pitcher Shingo Takatsu for assignment.
Takatsu, 36, is 1-2 with a 5.97 ERA (19 ER/28.2 IP) and eight saves in
31 relief appearances with the Sox in 2005. The 6-foot-0, 180-pound
reliever became the first Japanese-born player to appear with Chicago
last season.
