Ed: Nothing wrong with that. Anyway, back onto tennis, what did you make of
Serena Williams?
Andy: Yeah, that was good actually. I’ve never seen anyone look so intense
on court. It was good.
Ed: I was reading Brad’s blog a couple of days beforehand, he was predicting
Sharapova would walk it.
Andy: Brad makes some pretty extreme predictions. I think everyone was pretty
surprised. I don’t know if it’s good for the women’s game or not, I know
Serena is one of the best players ever. I think she played four tournaments
last year, and you’ve got Hingis who came back after, what was it, four
years and then finished in the top ten and Serena came back and managed to
win a Slam, and beat the number one player so easily. I don’t know if it’s
good or bad, I suppose it’s whatever anyone thinks it is. I was definitely
surprised she won so easily.
Ed: What do the players think? That it’s a fluke or that she’s back?
Andy: If she…I’m not exaggerating, If she wanted to, she could do what
Federer is doing in the men’s game. It’s pretty tough, but maybe better. She
’s physically so much stronger than all the other girls. She can serve much
harder, and if she wanted to be she could be the Federer of the women’s
game. It just depends if she wanted to.
