好久沒post wine tasting的心得了,
(前幾個禮拜有個coho tasting napa,普普通通最有名的headwaters也沒帶來@@)
Paitin是個小酒莊,產量並不高,以下是酒專寄來簡單的介紹。
Paitin was established in 1796 with the first Barbaresco Sorì Paitin bottled
in 1893. This Piedmontese winery has been producing outstanding Barbarescos
ever since, along with arneis, barberas, dolcettos, and nebbiolos. Seventh
generation winemaker, Giovanni Pasquero will be here at Barley and Vine.
今天的酒單如下,個人認為每隻都相當有特色,非常好喝。
我很喜歡這些酒的單寧,強勁卻又細緻不咬舌,
年輕的時候也能喝,配上rich一點的食物更棒。
可惜現在台灣似乎還沒有人進口,
不然以這酒莊的品質與價錢,在台灣應該也算有競爭力的。
除此之外另有幾款酒,可惜無緣喝到。
2008 Barbera 'Serra' reg $19.99 / $17.99 by the case
果香豐富,清爽好喝,今天單寧最輕的酒。
2006 Langhe Rosso reg $24.99 / $19.99 by the case
50% Nebbiolo and 50% Barbera,今天三隻便宜酒裡算均衡的。
單寧還是不輕,陳個幾年會更好。
Wine Advocate 92
The 2006 Langhe Paitin (Nebbiolo, Barbera) is a fresh, vibrant wine imbued
with violets, graphite, menthol, plums, wild cherries and minerals, all of
which come together beautifully. The wine offers a combination of ripeness
and minerality that is very appealing. Today the tannins are a touch firm,
but another few years in bottle should do the trick. The harmonious finish
augurs very well for the future. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021
2007 Nebbiolo reg $24.99 / $19.99 by the case
很特別的一隻酒,聞起來像genache,喝起來酒體較輕卻有爆發性的單寧。
果香味比前一隻豐富,單寧也更強,可惜有點不搭調。

WS的review把該說的都說完了,喝起來就跟他說的幾乎一樣,
今天最值得買的一隻酒,現在喝也很不錯,可以多享受點果香,
陳年的潛力也是一點都不含糊,單寧有力卻又細膩。
Wine Spectator 93: Dense and concentrated, with lots of berries and cherry,
with a cut wood note. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a mouthpuckering
finish. Needs lots of time in the bottle to come around, but should be really
outstanding in the end.
Wine Advocate 93: "Unfortunately I was only able to taste one Barbaresco
from Paitin this year, but it is a gem. The 2005 Barbaresco Sori Paitin is a
gorgeous wine redolent of flowers, ripe red fruit and subtle French oak
nuances. This Barbaresco offers lovely overall balance, with well-integrated
tannins and superb purity. Today the wine is bursting with primary fruit and
needs at least a few years in bottle to develop its tertiary aromas and
flavors. This is a terrific effort from Paitin. Anticipated maturity:
2012-2025.
2001 Barbaresco Vecchie Vigne reg $79.99 / $74.99 by the case (6)
酒莊owner說2001年的單寧非常的強,喝了之後果不其然。
果香比上一隻少,單寧卻還是強得令人吒舌(並不輸前一隻05的),
VV是用50年以上葡萄藤產的葡萄,釀製而成,老實說我喝不出他該有的複雜度。
比05那隻內斂倒是真的,可能是沒醒開吧。
Wine Advocate 94
The 2001 Barbaresco Sori Paitin Vecchie Vigne has the characteristic
intensity and focus of old-vine wines, potent, smoky, spicy, and penetrating
in aroma, rich in flavor and with the plush texture, the tightly-packed
tannins and caressing tactile sensations of perfectly ripe Nebbiolo. It will
continue to drink well for close to 15 years.
Wine Spectator 93
Rich and decadent, with mushroom, berry and cherry aromas and flavors.
Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, ripe fruit aftertaste. Big wine.
This is always impressive. Much better than the 2000. Best after 2008. 400
cases made. –JS
