The news is rarely all good when it comes to the Washington Wizards, and even
"John Wall Day" -- which D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty proclaimed June 25 -- has
been soured with some disappointing news. Wizards forward Andray Blatche will
have surgery on Friday to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
Blatche confirmed this afternoon that he broke his foot while working out at
Verizon Center this week, denying rumors that it occurred while playing
basketball at Berry Farms. The injury possibly came as a result of a stress
reaction that may have snapped all the way through. Asked how he was feeling,
Blatche texted, "I'm good."

Andray Blatche is expected to miss the next three months after undergoing
successful surgery to repair a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right
foot, according to a release from the Wizards. Blatche had the procedure
performed at Sibley Hospital on Friday night.
