Reigning European Champions Spain started the 2010 World Cup with a
surprising 1-0 defeat against Switzerland, but defender Raul Albiol
has made it clear that the Furia Roja are determined to win their
remaining two matches of the group stage in order to book their ticket
for the next round.
"Losing against Switzerland shows you no game is easy in the World Cup.
Every match so far has proved any team can make things difficult for
an opponent. The other favourites aren't winning, which means it is all
very complicated," was Raul Albiol quoted as saying on a press conference.
"We shouldn't lose our minds about it. We'll play again on Monday and
everything may change. We will depend on ourselves if we win our second
game.
"What matters is that winning two games will allow us to reach the next
round. That makes us confident. A World Cup is something you can take
part in only two or three times in your life. It is a very even
competition. We hope to be strong and reach as far as possible."
