※ 引述《sorryChen (陳揚和)》之銘言:
: Is it possible to infect computer virus from different OS PC.
: For example, from windows to linux.
: I guess no, since there file format are diffrent.
: Is that right?
Correct.
: But if this OS share his disk from internet with other
: windows client to write in ?
: Is it possible that the share disk or folder is full of windows virus?
: If the folder is full of windows virus, is it possible for it to
: crash the linux system or so?
Nope. It will not crash the linux system since they are totally two
different "operating system". Obviously, the file system is unlike.
Then, the executable file format is different. Windows adopt .exe or
even .com. Unix use ELF which owns different data structure
compared with .exe and .com. That is to say, it will not make sense
if you want to use window's virus to infect Unix system. The reason is
quite simple--it can't map into correct data structure.( Solaris SPARC,
for exaplme, they don't even have the same register). It won't make
the changes that the virus expected.
: But how if the server is not linux but DOS?
Yes. It surely will.

Correct me if there is anything wrong.
