A. Examinations and grading
1. The first examination will be held on November 5 (1/3 of the grades).
The examination will cover the lecture notes from the beginning of the
semester up to the principle of inclusion and exclusion (inclusive).
That roughly corresponds to chapters 1--8 of the textbook (minus chapter
6 and sections 2.5, 5.4, 5.7, 5.8, and 7.5).
2. There will be 2 sessions. Those whose ID numbers are 0 mod 4 will take
the examination during 3:10--4:30. Prepare to enter the classroom at
4:00. You shall leave the classroom at, but not before, 4:30 through
the north entrance.
3. Those whose ID numbers are not 0 mod 4 will take the examination during
4:40--6:00. You shall not be allowed to enter the classroom, through
the south entrance, after 4:30.
4. All rules will be strictly enforced without exceptions.
B. The second examination will be held on December 3 (closed book).
C. Ththird examination will be held on January 7 (closed book).
