A. The first examination will be held on November 5 (1/3 of the grades).
1. The examination will cover the lecture notes from the beginning of
the semester up to the principle of inclusion and exclusion (inclusi-
ve). That roughly corresponds to chapters 1--8 of the textbook (minus
chapter 6 and sections 2.5, 5.4, 5.7, 5.8, and 7.5).
2. Non-CSIE students and CSIE students with an ID in ranges
B89902002-B89902022 or B90902022-B90902106 (inclusive) will take the
examination during 3:10--4:30. Prepare to enter the classroom at 3:00.
You shall leave the classroom at, but not before, 4:30 through the
north entrance.
3. The rest of the students will take the examination during 4:40--6:00.
Prepare to wait outside the south entrance of the classroom before
4:30. You shall not be allowed to enter the classroom after 4:30. No
exceptions will be granted.
4. Bring your student photo ID for possible spot checks.
B. The second examination will be held on December 3 (closed book).
C. Th third examination will be held on January 7 (closed book).
D. There will be no makeup examinations.
