Since you ask in English, I will reply in English.
Of course you can write your own functions. The main purpose of this
homework is to practice recursive programming. The "functions" I refered
to are "system functions", since I do not want you to use strcpy(),
strlen(), islower() at this moment.
Hope this helps clarifying things.
