Following is the message from Institute of Earth Sciences Academia Sinica
We are a group of scientists from Academia Sinica who enjoy exploring the Earth. We are looking for
multiple research assistants. Potential projects include collecting and analyzing crustal thermal data
of Taiwan. Occasional field works are required thus a valid driver’s license is needed.
The second project is to study gas hydrates using seismic methods. Prior knowledge about earth sciences
is not required. A person who is well-organized and self-motivated is most welcome to apply. We welcome
applicants from geophysics, engineering, geology, math, physics, and statistics to join us. To apply,

(wchi@sinica.edu.tw):
1. A resume including a photo copy of your transcript(s) in college (this is just for reference,
will not be a deciding factor) or a pdf file of your MS thesis.
2. A short paragraph (less than one-page) stating your characteristics/experiences that you think
can help you to pursue and finish a research project.
3. It will be a plus if you can provide contact information of a reference person.
These positions are available immediately. Review of applications began on Oct. 12, 2012 and will
continue until the positions are filled.
