THE HIPPOCRATIC OATH
I swear by Apollo the physician and Aesculapius and health and
all-heal and all the gods and goddesses that according to my
ability and judgement I will keep this oath and this stipulation--to
reckon him who taught me this art equally dear to me as my parents,
to share my substance with him and relieve his necessities if
required, to look upon his offspring in the same footing as my own
brothers and to teach them this art if they shall wish to learn
it without fee or stipulation and that by precept, lecture, and
every other mode of instruction I will impart a knowledge of the
part to my own sons and those of my teachers and to disciples bound
by a stipulation and oath according to the law of medicine but to
none others. I will follow that system of regimen which,according
to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my
patients, and abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous.
I will give no deadly medicine to any one if ask nor suggest any
such counsel, and in like manner I will not give to a woman a pessary
to produce abortion. With purity and with holiness I will pass my
life and practice my art. I will not cut persons laboring under the
stone but will leave this to be done by men who are practitioners
of this work. Into whatever houses I enter, I will go into them for
the benefit of the sick and will abstain from every voluntary act
of mischief and corruption, and further, from the seduction of
females or males, of freemen and slaves. Whatever, in connection
with my professional practice, or not in connection with it, I see
or hear, in the life of men, which ought not to be spoken of abroad,
I will not divulge as reckoning that all such should be kept secret.
While I continue to keep this oath unviolated, may it be granted
to me to enjoy life and the practice of the art, respected by all
men, in all times, but should I trespass and violate this oath, may
the reverse be me lot.
希波克拉提斯誓詞
我以醫神阿波羅，藥神阿斯克拉匹斯，健康之神和康復之神及所有眾神之名
宣誓，按照我的能力及判斷，我謹遵守此誓言及信條，尊崇教導我醫術的恩師，
他待我如父母般親愛，我將與他共同分享我的資產，成全他的要求，如待我的
兄弟般照顧他的子孫，如他們願意學習此醫術，我亦將不需任何報酬及條件而
以口授、講述及其他各種方法教導他們。根據醫學法典，我將把我所知傳授我
的子孫，並與我的師長及遵守此誓言及信條的醫學同僚們交換心得，但不將此
醫術告知不法之徒。我將遵循法統，根據我的能力及判斷，顧及我的病人的利
益，避免對他們造成任何錯誤及傷害。即使任何人要求，我均拒絕給予有獨或
致死的藥品，也不對任何人作此種建議。以同樣態度，我亦不為婦人施行墮胎。
我以純正及神聖的態度終生執行我的醫術，我不隨便欺騙病患，將無法醫治之
病患轉給真正專家。無論走到何處，我均以病人利益為先，禁絕任何有害或敗
德的自願行為，更不利誘眾人或奴隸。不論與我職業有關或無關，我所聽到或
看到一個人身體上的一切，絕不四處散播流言，應予保密的事情，我絕不洩漏。
我永遠遵守此一誓言絕不違犯信條，以執行醫術為樂，將常受人尊敬。若我違
反此誓言及信條，將遭受嚴厲的懲罰。

已被現今的醫師尊崇為職業態度和行為的最高理想
此誓詞含有兩大部分
第一部分 或說是契約 是學生對於老師的一種義務
第二部分則是道德規範
現在各醫學院學生畢業開始執業之前
均需朗誦此誓詞 是為醫科畢業之重要儀式
