In this long vacation which does nothing but keeps you aging,the TV and
its remote control have become my lifesavers.And flipping through nearly
all the 90 channels is now a routine ritual I perform on a hourly basis.
This evening,during the usually boring process,I was literally shocked by
a scene- Modanna dressed in traditional Japanese gowns mechanic-dancing!
Actually it's her latest single from her Ray of Light album called Nothing
Really Matters.Oh my,it's probably the most horribly impressive sight so
far this year.The 40-year-old diva literally masked herself in a blood-red
gown and dead-white facial make-up and flinging her limbs in all strange
angles desperately,among a crowd of zombie-like Japanese girls.
It was not until tonight,after seeing this video,did I really find some-
thing quite extraordinary about this seemingly divine goddess in pop music.
She really seems to have that unstoppable waves of originalities about her.
In her music,clothes,movies,and music videos,you almost always find some
cool and brand new stuff that has never been tried before.What with her
sensitive eye of the modern trend,I think this achievement is also partly
due to her boldness to try new things and to make new ideas come to life.
Many superstars today,including my guardian angel Mariah,I admit,don't
have the "gut" to put out an image too "weird" or "unacceptable" and they
usually obey the dressing code to present themselves to the public.But
it's not the case with Madonna.In my opinion,she has been addicted to
innovate,to create new styles.And those daring experiments of hers usually
turn out to be quite refreshing and impressive.Take this video for example,
the focus is really the stunning visual effect instead of the music itself.
I bet only few people will remember the tune after seeing the viseo but
most of them will certainly be inscribed deeply with the image of geisha-
Madonna.
Anyway,I just want to express some respect toward this pop diva,from an
artistic perspective only.And I really think the music video is going to
be a hit on all the music channels,and perhaps improving the single's
performance on charts.Keep an eye on it!But still,Mariah is the one and
only diva in my mind.Her latest single I Still Believe has been officially
released and is destined to be this year's Valentine's song,not to mention
her terrific scores on her #1's album.(8 weeks straight on top of IFPI
chart already)So for those of you who haven't yet follow the trend and
purchase a copy of it,I can only say you are already pitifully out-of-date.
Ha ha ha.....
