Well,sleeping 12 hours a day really isn't what I call a lifestyle. In the
past three days I can practically feel myself aging. That's why I went to
see another movie yesterday-to add some spice to my dull and fuzzy
conciousness.
Forces of Nature is a cute movie. It's not entirely commercial and delivers
only 90-minute explosive sensations, yet it's neither a work of deep meanings
that philosophizes everything and sends you out of the theater even more
confused and tired.
I think this movie revolves mainly around the theme of love and marriage.
Aside from the astonishing special effects which creats painfully romantic
atmosphere and scenes in the movie,it lectures on the meaning of marriage
as a limit to people's freedom to pursue their impulses.
Although the way the director handles to deliver this message is a little
crude to me (in many a scenes it's really too obvious and kind of plastic),
I still see some of the points it distinctively marks out and feel quite
sad about its logical and realistic pessimism.
The ending of the film, though kind of good and reasonable, disappoints me
somehow.Maybe I'm too romantic to see some of real life's cruel
inevitabilities.Anyway, this short but full of beautiful images and heartening
romances movie is worthwhile. It gives me some lessons to think about beside
the immediate sensations, at least.
p.s. My dear Jeff,do you happen to know someone named Rose Lin in your class?
She's my junior high classmate! I bet she's still helplessly silly and talkative!
