ethereally satisfying song ever.Again,the lyrical composition of the song is
extraordinarily successful in that it expresses the feelings of split lovers
deliberately and skillfully.Not so much of provocative,irrationally emotional
outcries,it is comprised of carefully crafted metaphors ,giving it a kind of
classical quality,yet it also conveys the melancholy sentiments,perhaps light-
ly,but beautifully.
Apparently not as musically ambitious,this song,which has already been hea-
vily promoted by the record company on television,offers listeners a peaceful
shelter to resort to.As the mellow melody slowly extends itself,all of us can
feel part of us voluntarily lost in it,leaving all that depresses our bodies
and minds temporarily behind.And distinguished from ordinary Mandarin pop
songs yet in another way,you actually feel more deeply touched,experience
more of the track's magnetic quality as you listen to it times and times
again,for its addictive charm doesn't wear off with more plays,but crawls to
the deepest corner of your heart gradually.
As you journey along to the fourth song,the title track of the album,the
beat quickens up once again,as a sort of warm,comforting ambience takes over
the focus.Mainly composed of easy flows of guitar and delicately tuned elec-
tric instruments,the whole song is as relaxing as the touch of summer breeze,
as pure and calming as the water in deep ocean.Plus Faye's cautious and sub-
tle vocal peformance,and the surprising "guest appearance" of her daughter,
Tong-tong,in the middle,the song adds another tickling layer of emotional de-
pth and public appeal.And whoever heard this song can't possibly overhear the
indescribably cute "Come on baby" and the successive giggles;it brings to the
