I just check the Furtwangler/VPO/1954 recording of
Bruckner Symphony no.8. Yes, it's 1892 version rather
than the Nowak version. An easy way to identify these
two versions is to check mm 93-98 in the Finale, which
is cut in the 1892 version (2'49" in Furt's recording).

Also, in m. 479 a cymbal clash is added (14'29") in
the 1892 version.

I guess in 1892 version, mm. 183 (so-called Caucasian
march) is marked mp or p (ff in Nowak) with a huge cresc.
Both Furt and Knap/1951/BPO did not directly adopt ff
in mm. 183. However I don't have the full score of 1892
version, so I cannot give you exact markings, but the
above evidence will be adequate to prove this recording
a 1892 version.

(The above examples are all from the Finale.  All measure
numbers are according to the 1890 version by Nowak.)
