Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards 2006
Radio 3 Listeners' Award
BBC 3現在有一個 The Radio 3 Listeners Award 的投票在進行,去年得獎的是Sir
Charles Mackerras。
Marin Alsop
The dynamic principal conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is renowned
for her high-octane performances which captivate musicians and audiences alike.
From Beethoven to Bernstein, and Elgar to John Adams, her broadcasts in 2005 have
constantly illuminated classic and contemporary scores.
Leif Ove Andsnes
In a wide range of appearances both in
solo, chamber and concerto, Andsnes' touch and warmth at the piano
has proved once again that he belongs to the select few at the very top of
the profession.
Valery Gergiev
As ever, the conductor has stamped his extraordinary combination of authority
and dynamism on his work this year, and with the beginning of his Shostakovich
cycle gave a tantalising glimpse of what is in store when he takes over the LSO in 2007.
Janine Jansen
With her Wigmore Hall Radio 3 Lunchtime recital (an unforgettable Elgar) and
her appearance playing the Mendelssohn Concerto at the First Night of the Proms
, she showed conclusively that she is one of the top young violinists of
our time.
Felicity Lott
The mature brilliance of this much-loved soprano and her outstanding artistry
were vividly demonstrated in 2005 in broadcast recitals from the Bath and
Cheltenham Festivals, and in an unforgettable Proms Chamber Music concert of
Romantic French repertoire that she has gloriously made her own.
Gianandrea Noseda
The inspiring principal conductor of the BBC Philharmonic in Manchester is
building an huge reputation for his penetrating interpretations and his sheer
energy in performance. Broadcast highlights in 2005 included major works by
Liszt, Mahler, Ravel, Stravinsky and Shostakovich, and a thrilling and majestic
performance of Verdi's Requiem at the BBC Proms.
Christian Tetzlaff
The German violinist is one of the most versatile players around. His
performance at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival of the Ligeti Concerto was astonishing
for its virtuosity and expressive range, his Mozart at the Proms was poised and
his work in the chamber music field was more than ably demonstrated in recitals
ranging from Mozart to Bartok and Shostakovich.
John Tomlinson
The bass-baritone made a stunning impact on his return in October 2005 to the
Royal Opera House as The Wanderer in Siegfried, matched the following month in
the same house by his King Fisher in the revival of Tippett's Midsummer
Marriage. He returned with another swaggering role, that of the evil
Master-at-Arms, Claggart in Britten's Billy Budd at English National Opera.
