Dear Home Secretary,

親愛的英國內政大臣

We the undersigned petition the Home Secretary to reconsider Pegah Emambakhsh
旧 case and grant her permission to stay in the UK. If returned to Iran she
faces certain imprisonment and possibly stoning to death. Her crime in Iran
is her sexual orientation ?she was in a relationship with another woman.

我們連署這份聲明給英國內政大臣，
是希望您能重新考慮給予Pegah Emambakhsh在英國停留的權利。
如果她回到伊朗，她得面對監禁和可能被丟石頭致死的下場。
她在伊朗犯的罪源於她的性傾向，因為她曾經和另一個女人有過關係。

Pegah Emambakhsh is an Iranian national who sought asylum in the UK in 2005.
Her claim failed despite appeals and she was arrested in Sheffield on Monday
13th August and taken to Yarlswood detention centre. She is likely to be
deported back to Iran in the near future.

Pegah Emambakhsh是一個伊朗國民，在2005年時向英國尋求庇護。
儘管她聲求英國政府保護她，但她的要求落空，
8月13日在Sheffield被逮捕，然後被帶到Yarlswood的臨時拘留所，
很可能在近期內被遣返回伊朗。

Ms Emambakhsh escaped from Iran, claiming asylum after her partner was
arrested, tortured and it is feared has been sentenced to death by stoning.
Her father has also been arrested, tortured and interrogated about Pegah旧
 whereabouts, he has since been released.

Emambakhsh小姐從伊朗逃出來後聲求庇護，
這之前，她的伴侶被捕、遭受虐待，恐怕被判處遭石頭砸死的死刑。
她的爸爸也一度被捕、遭受虐待、被追問Emambakhsh的行蹤，現在獲釋。

According to Iranian Human Rights Campaigners over 4000 lesbians and gay men
have been executed since the Ayatollahs came to power in 1979.

根據伊朗人權運動者的資料，自從1979年Ayatollahs掌權之後，
有超過4000名的女同志和同志被判處死刑。

Other European countries (including Germany and Holland) have a moratorium on
deporting gay people back to Iran. We urge you to take action on behalf of Ms
Emambakhsh and stop her deportation back to a country where there is no doubt
she will be persecuted, prosecuted and possibly stoned to death.

其他歐洲國家，包括德國和荷蘭，都給予伊朗同志延遲回國的許可。
我們代Emambakhsh小姐拜託您採取行動，
停止強制遣返她回到一個一定會迫害她、起訴她，並可能拿石頭把她砸死的地方。

她已經從拘留所出來了，事情應該會往好的方向發展，但尚未底定。 　
非常感謝世界各國同志的幫忙（連署、到各國駐英使館抗議等行動）
，未來還希望大家多多注意。m(_ _)m

Everyone

We have some good news at last! Pegah was granted bail this morning, is now
out of Yarls Wood Detention Centre and back with people who will love and
care for her. The Court of Appeal have also agreed to hear her case. It will
be listed within the next couple of weeks and will be heard sometime in the
next few months, we believe.

There are also other actions that we know are being taken on her behalf, by
influential organisations at a high level in the UK.

We really don't think that we would have got this far without the fantastic
work you have put in supporting Pegah. She is truly grateful and gives her
heartfelt thanks to you all - as do we. It is impossible to overstate the
value of your support.

This does not mean that Pegah is out of the woods but she is now in a much
more hopeful position.

As you will understand Pegah needs time to recover from the ordeal of the
past few weeks. She also needs to get back in touch with the ordinary
business of living her life in some peace and
tranquility.

We will keep you updated as events develop.
