● John Russell (UK)
1965年開始自學吉他接觸自由即興音樂。17歲高中畢業後即開始演奏生涯，在倫敦著名的
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club以及Little
Theatre Club演出，並與實驗音樂吉他大師Derek Bailey學習。John Russell約翰‧羅素
吉他演奏生涯逾半世紀，風格橫跨各領域，多次與BBC、法廣France musique等全球各大
媒體合作錄製許多影像與廣播節目。約翰‧羅素與全球頂尖音樂家合作發行超過50張專輯
，經常合作的樂手如薩克斯風翹楚Evan Parker、日本傳奇即興鼓手豐住芳三郎、三味線
演奏家田中悠美子、台灣鋼琴家李世揚等。約翰‧羅素也是各大音樂節與工作坊的常客，
演奏足跡遍及五大洲，超過20個國家。
約翰‧羅素以其視音樂為生命的熱忱，全力投入即興音樂，先於1981年創辦QUAQUA國際即
興音樂節，延續至今，2016年舉辦歡慶35周年紀念；1991年再設立Mopomoso系列音樂會並
擔任營運總監。此系列是英國營運最久的定期音樂會，今年即將走過第26個寒暑。
2016年約翰‧羅素與愛爾蘭鋼琴家Paul G Smyth合夥成立獨立唱片公司Weekertoft，發行
四片CD的套裝專輯《Making Room》，收錄2013年世界巡迴演奏之精華。 2017年在各界邀
約下將於今年首訪臺灣。
John Russell is a leading figure in the British free improvisation scene. He
began playing guitar in 1966 while living in Kent, playing in and around
London from 1971 onwards.
From 1974 his work extended into teaching, broadcasts (radio and television),
touring in the United Kingdom and, ever extensively, in other countries
around the world. He has played with many of the world’s leading improvisers
and his work can be heard on over 50 CDs and albums.
In 1981, he founded QUAQUA, a large bank of improvisers put together in
different combinations for specific projects and, in 1991, he started
Mopomoso an organisation run with the help of volunteers, which among other
things hosts the UK’s longest running concert series featuring improvised
music.
His music draws from all aspects of guitar playing and whilst better known
for his acoustic work he also plays electric with amongst others, FURT,
Thurston Moore, Han Bennink and Evan Parker’s large electro acoustic
ensemble.
2016 marked his 50th year as a musician, 35th year as leader of QUAQUA and
25th year as director of MOPOMOSO. He has recently started a label Weekertoft
with Irish musician Paul G Smyth, the first release a 4 CD boxed set called ‘
Making Rooms’ and featuring music from a highly acclaimed MOPOMOSO 2013 UK
tour.

● Ståle Liavik Solberg (NO)
來自挪威的Ståle是一名爵士即興、自由即興鼓手。2011年畢業於挪威音樂院碩士，此後
成為挪威及歐洲地區的當紅自由即興音樂家，積極活躍於各種音樂活動中，並與眾多音樂
家合作：John Russell、Steve Beresford、Frode Gjerstad、Paal Nilssen-Love、
FredLonberg-Holm、John Butcher、Lotte Anker、Joe McPhee以及Ryley Walker等等。
Solberg同時也是許多國際音樂節邀請的貴賓常客：Copenhagen Jazz Festival、DOM、
End Of The Road Festival、Fete Quaqua、Heineken Jazzaldia Donostia - San
Sebastián、Mopomoso、Okka Fest、Café OTO、Constellation。除了職業演奏，
Solberg也籌劃主辦Blow Out以及Kongsberg Jazzfestival音樂節。
除了許多現場音樂會演出，Solberg也積極錄製許多音樂專輯，將即興音樂的精神更加廣

Ståle Liavik Solberg (born 1979) is a Norwegian drummer, percussionist and
improviser. His main focus is improvised music and that includes groups and
projects with John Russell, Steve Beresford, Frode Gjerstad, Paal
Nilssen-Love, Fred Lonberg-Holm, John Butcher, Lotte Anker, Joe McPhee, Ryley
Walker and many more.
He has a BA in Jazz from University of Stavanger (2007) and MA in
improvisation from the Norwegian Academy of Music (2011).
Solberg tours extensively and he has played at festivals and clubs like All
Ears. Festival for improvised music, Blow Out,
Copenhagen Jazz Festival, DOM, End Of The Road Festival, Fete Quaqua,
Heineken Jazzaldia Donostia - San Sebastián, Mopomoso, Okka Fest, Café OTO,
Constellation and more.
When Ståle Liavik Solberg isn’t touring he spends time teaching drums and
also programming and organizing the Blow Out! series and festival as well as
Kongsberg Jazzfestival.

● Will Guthrie (AU)
Will Guthrie是旅居法國的澳洲鼓手/打擊樂手。他用各類型的鼓、打擊樂器、道具、垃

奏。

Will Guthrie is an Australian drummer / percussionist living in France. He
works in many different settings of music: live performance, improvisation
and studio composition using various combinations of drums, percussion,
objects, junk, amplification and electronics..
He plays solo and in various projects such as THE AMES ROOM & THE SOMMES
ENSEMBLE. His music has been released on labels such as Black Truffle,
Editions Mego, Ipecac, Erstwhile, Clean Feed, Gaffer Records, 23five, iDEAL
and his own label Antboy Music.
While studying jazz and improvised music(s) at the Victorian College of the
Arts in Melbourne, alongside Ren Walters he started the weekly concert series
'Improvised Tuesdays', now known as the Make It Up Club and is Australia's
longest running performance space dedicated to experimental and improvised
musics. In Nantes, France he is part of the collective CABLE# which also
organizes regular concerts and an annual festival. He also runs the
experimental improvised CD label and mail-order service; ANTBOY MUSIC.
He plays solo using different combinations of drums, percussion,
amplification and electronics, in experimental rock band TETEMA (with Mike
Patton and Anthony Pateras), minimalist/maximalist free jazz trio THE AMES
ROOM (with Jean-Luc Guionnet & Clayton Thomas), as well as the
improvised/composed ensemble THE SOMMES ENSEMBLE (with Pierre-Antoine
Badaroux, Julien Desperez & Maxime Petit).
Regular collaborators past and present include Roscoe Mitchell, Mark Fell, Jé
rôme Noetinger, Oren Ambarchi, Anthony Pateras, Chulki Hong, Keith Rowe,

● 董昭民 Chao-Ming Tung
台灣作曲家董昭民於1969年出生於臺北，作曲師事錢南章教授、Johannes Fritsch、
Mauricio Kagel及Nicolaus A. Huber。1999年獲德國埃森音樂院最高藝術家文憑並以該
校最優異成績畢業，並獲頒德國科隆巿政府作曲獎及獎學金。2001年獲台灣國家文藝基金
會的作曲贊助。2004年獲美國洛杉磯Villa Aurora 藝術家獎學金。2006年獲許常惠作曲
比賽民族樂器類第二名，2008年獲教育部文藝創作獎教師組音樂作曲特優。同年獲國藝會
補助，製作他的第一張個人原創作品集《音之旅》。2013年獲頒台北西區扶輪社「台灣文
化獎」。 董昭民的作品已在亞洲、美洲及歐洲的音樂節多次發表演出：柏林國際音樂節
MaerzMusik Berlin、芝加哥新音樂節Soundfield Festival Chicago、慕尼黑新音樂系列
musica viva München、德國達姆斯塔新國際音樂研討會等。與他合作的知名團體包括臺
灣采風樂坊、法蘭克福摩登樂團Ensemble Modern Frankfurt、維也納音響論坊
Klangforum Wien、芝加哥諾門訥斯樂團Ensemble Noamnesia Chicago、芬蘭Avanti!室內
樂團、中國國家交響樂團、莫比斯圓環創作公社 Möbius Strip Theatre等。 董昭民的
創作，企圖將東方的人文精神及藝術思想表現在他的作品中。董昭民擅長古箏演奏與即興
。他於2004年與旅德古箏大師徐鳳霞及旅奧作曲家王蓂合組古箏「箏鳴」三重奏，並加入
電子樂器，極力拓展東方音樂語法及表達手法的新空間。他多次與畫家及舞蹈家合作舞蹈
音樂及多媒體表演藝術，融入即時電聲創作，發展他藝術表達的多樣性。董昭民於
2006-2007年擔任臺灣采風樂坊駐團作曲家。2007年開始任教於新竹交通大學音樂研究所
。2008年與交大應用藝術研究所和建築研究所共創「交大多媒體藝術團隊」，參加多次國
內外跨領域展演藝文交流，成果豐碩。

火車站出口出來，沿著左前方林森路直走約100公尺，於左手邊「台灣銀行」前搭乘大遠
百免費接駁車，在第三個停靠站(中山路北門街口)下車，往前直走約50公尺右轉仁德街(
地標為貢茶)，直走約50公尺左轉江山街，找到13號及15號之間的防火巷，進入巷子約15
公尺右手邊即為本所正門。
● 步行
火車站出口出來，沿著左前方林森路直走，看到右手邊的「南門醫院」後右轉復興路並直
走接東門街，看到城隍廟前廣場往正前方找到仁德街(地標為貢茶)，進入仁德街直走約50
公尺左轉江山街，找到13號及15號之間的防火巷，進入巷子約15公尺右手邊即為本所正門
。（約15~20分鐘）
