China intensifies control of foreign media
The Chinese government continues to limit the work of foreign media.
In the future agencies may pass Xinhua on of reports only with permission
of the official press agency to Chinese media.
Peking - in the future the spreading is forbidden to the foreign press agencies
by information, which could disturb the economic and social order of China
or undermine social stability, in the country, communicated Xinhua.
Therefore also messages are forbidden, which could scoop out the national unit,
sovereignty and territorial integrity of China or endanger national security
and the call of the country.
Foreign press agencies may spread their messages in China only over Xinhua or
from it approved places. A goal is to ensure the passing on of messages in
"perfect and tidy kind" it was said. Xinhua has the right to select those of
foreign press agencies in China published messages and information.
Inkriminiertes material may be removed.
The new rules entered into force with their publication.
For reason among other things to dangers for national security one referred.
Business permissions of the international media are to be examined annually.
With offences cautions or requests threaten
to the correction within certain periods.
In addition the licenses can be suspended or extracted,
if unwanted messages are spread or recruited without switching customer.
The regulations replace a government decree of 1996,
which regulated the spreading of financial information.
They apply also to press agencies from the special administrative zones
Hong Kong and Macau as well as from Taiwan,
which is regarded of China as abtruennige province.
