這裡提到的都是美國人方面的觀點 行文也才會出現the majority of americans
這樣的字眼
另外一個證據來自第十頁左欄的結論:
Relatively small number of Americans, Indians, South Koreans,
and Australians view China-Taiwan conflict as a critical threat.
A solid majority of Americans oppose using U.S. troops to defend
Taiwan.
新聞報導的證據則是來自於六十頁左欄第二段 該段全文是:
There is a long-runing debate in think tank and policy circles,
particularly in the United States, as to whether, in the event
of Chinese military against Taiwan, the United States sould of should not
use Military Power to defend Taiwan. While there is general support
in the government for such U.S. troop involvement (sans a Taiwanes
declaration of independence), survey results of U.S. public suggest a
different story. A full 61% of those surveyed oppose the use of
U.S. troops to defend Taiwan in a context that is not specified as
multilateral.
