我 iphone 是用 imap 沒錯，可以 gmail 設成 imap 的樣子。
我是直接用豬頭黨網路的 318mail，設定方式：
Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->Add Account...
開新帳號選 Others 照這樣的格式輸入，然後選 imap server
address： sychen @ pighead.cc (這格可以隨便填)
host name： mail.pighead.cc
user name : sychen
password : (318ftp密碼)
address是寄出去的信會顯示的 mail address，所以可以填想要「偽裝」
的信箱，之後把那個信箱的信通通 forward 到 sychen @ pighead.cc 就
收發都沒問題了。
Advanced:
IMAP 信箱有幾個特定信箱是需要手動指定資料夾來擔任的，
我習慣的設定是這樣 ：
Drafts Mailbox: Drafts
Sent Mail: Sent
Deleted Mailbox: Trash
當然其他的 IMAP 收信軟體也要這樣設，那就走到哪都通用了，
像我的設法會變把所有的寄件備份放在 Sent 這個目錄，你寄了信
他就會自動丟在這裡，可以拿 Windows Mail 同時設一次看看就有
概念了。
SSL 可以打開，Authentication 選 Password 然後 Server Port 是 993
SMTP:
如果要寄信的話 SMTP 也要設，
帳號密碼一樣，Authentication 也是選 Password，
不過不要開 SSL，我好像還沒修好這個 SSL :p
如果要設其他的 IMAP 信箱也是用類似的方式即可。
