Brian Turner, On the true right

Note: 標題"On the ture right"裡的right
On the true right by Brian Turner
You were on the right side
of the river, and I was on the other,
or vice versa, fighting over water
and the direction it flows.
You were waving and telling me
to come across, and I was saying
the same. I kept looking over
my shoulder to see if there
was someone else more willing
than I (there usually is), and
there was. Friends are easy,
you said, the bastards proposition
me all the time. I believe every word
you said, knowing what friends
are for. Honey, if it weren't
so swift and cold we could have
tried to meet in the middle of the river.
